I am pleased to introduce to you Tasmania Division’s Committee of Management. The Committee assists in providing exciting, informative professional development and networking opportunities throughout the year for members and friends.
So many office professionals including secretaries, administrators and office support staff, often under-estimate their valuable contribution to today’s professional business world and therefore do not promote themselves as essential components of the organisation.
Our association gives members the opportunity for recognition of their professional status through achievements, qualifications and experience.
If you are interested in becoming a member or have any ideas or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or a member of the Committee.
Louise Ritchie MAIOP
President/Director
Tasmania Division
Tasmania offers an enviable lifestyle. It is the smallest Australian state, but it has all of the services and facilities needed to make it a safe and relaxing home. Many Tasmanians enjoy the benefits of a city lifestyle, combined with easy access to beaches, rivers and lakes and national parks.
There are four major population centres - Hobart (the capital), Launceston, Burnie and Devonport.
For more information about Tasmania including business and investment opportunities, visit the Department of Economic Development and Tourism website at www.development.tas.gov.au. The Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides effective leadership and a range of quality services to businesses both large and small. For more information visit www.TCCI.com.au.
In February we will be launching the Senior & Young Office Professional Awards for 2012 to be announced at the Office Professionals Breakfast on Friday 4th May 2012. Watch this space for further advertising.
If you are interested in joining a great team and building your knowledge and experience in areas such as Events Management, Website Design, Newsletter Editor, just to name a few, we have great opportunities for you to join the Committee of Management team. Contact the Tasmania Division President, Louise Ritchie to find out more.
The Senior and Young Office Professional of the Year Awards were announced at the 2011 Breakfast. The calibre of candidates received was extremely high, which made it challenging for the three independent judges and the Breakfast Convenor to choose the winners. Unfortunately this year there were no nominations received for the Young Office Professional of the Year category. We are hoping that 2012 will change this and that managers actively promote their young office professionals to participate in this award which will greatly enhance their skills and career.
The Winner of the Senior Office Professional of the Year was Robyn Preer from Woolworths Transaction Processing Centre and this year we awarded a Senior Runner-Up Category to Nola Simpson from Lenna of Hobart. An article on these ladies will be printed in the AIOP newsletter coming
